The Bearcats
had to take the long road, but they came out the other end as sectional
champions! Muncie Central won the Muncie South Sectional with a hard fought 2-1
victory over Muncie Burris.
It was the
third match of the tournament for the Bearcats. They began play by blasting
Muncie South 6-0 and then defeated Delta in the semi-finals by a 5-0 score.
Central will
now head to Blackford for the regional round. They will open play versus Jay
County. The other half of the bracket features Yorktown against new Haven. The
Bearcats’ 13-3 record is the best of the four teams in the regional field.
